AUD'$
We worked to actively meet and go beyond the client's expectation through minimal site architecture that promotes user engagement and increases and dwell time.
Project Summary
Key Features
- Massive scale blog infrastructure for growth and usability at a premium level
- Separation of feature categories and promotion on Home page
- Use of Essential Grid plugin for complex sliders and blog post displays
Aim
AUD'$ required a redesign due to myriad usability issues, including a difficult and visually distracting process of navigating between blog post categories. The main issue that needed addressing was that they had a high bounce rate, short dwell time, and low site traffic. Having published over 750 posts AUD'$ have already established themselves as a major player in the Rap and Hip Hop industry, and they just needed some rock solid promotion!
The problem was that a) these posts had been built with a deprecated page builder so needed updating, and b) the categorisation was a mess! We needed to simplify the process and get users clicking on what they're interested in from the get, increasing engagement and popularity.
Another key focus for them was to get advertising space(s) set up as an additional revenue stream and to help support related businesses.
Outcome
We began this process by importing the 750+ blog posts and thousands of images which required several 3rd party premium plugins for a successful export - import process. Once imported these posts were fixed up to look clean and encourage further user engagement and promotion through social sharing options.
We separated dozens of post categories into 4 main ones to be able to promote through the home page, establishing a hub with 'something for everyone'.
The last challenge we overcame was creating space where interested parties could advertise throughout the AUD'$ website. This was achieved through header, footer, and sidebar advertising spots which are now being filled on a consistent basis.
The AUD'$ website now gets thousands of hits/month on average and has tripled it's dwell time, with a decreased bounce rate
